Our ProcessThe Design/Build ProcessGetting started:When you contact us we begin by meeting you in your home. This not only shows our commitment to being available for our busy customers, but also gives us a feel of your specific taste and how you live your everyday life. We will then interview you to find out what specific goals, needs and dreams you have in your new space. We then process all that information and begin to the design process. We create floor plans and elevations incorporating every aspect of your project, including appliances, flooring, counter tops and backsplashes. We then offer an itemized proposal. We are very upfront with cost and have no hidden fees. Custom Home Innovations also includes premium features at no additional cost. Solid maple drawer boxes and soft close hinges and drawers come standard on our cabinets. We have found suppliers that offer us outstanding products at phenomenal prices and we pass that savings on to our customers. It is important to us to have satisfied customers, not only with the product but also with the price. The proposal is yours to take and consider, the original designs remain the property of Custom Home Innovations until you make your decision to work with us to further develop your project. Custom Home Innovations does not just craft custom kitchens, we offer outstanding custom crafted furniture, office pieces, libraries, home entertainment centers and theaters, bathroom cabinetry, efficient laundry rooms, fireplaces, custom closet organization and custom millwork. The Retainer:After we show you the proposed designs, you have a choice to move forward. If you choose to continue to shape this project into a reality you may retain us for 5% of the estimated project cost. This ensures that our time, effort and creativity is protected. We will then finalize the details of the layout, elevations, design details and organization. We will also complete a detailed budget for your project. At this point all of the designs and proposals are yours to keep. If you choose to move forward to sign a contract that retainer is credited to your contract. The Contract: Once all the floorpans, elevations, specific designs and selections are made we move forward with the contract. At this point we draw up a contract. With Custom Home Innovations we do not add any cost to the project beyond the agreed upon price. If you wish to make changes we will make a change order and amend the contract, but that choice is yours. At this time a deposit of half the contract price is required to move forward with the building process. We also come to an agreed upon timeline for your project. We take every step with our customers from a concept to building to installation to final touches. We are not done with a project until our customers are satisfied with their project. We offer outstanding customer satisfaction. We also stand behind our products. If you have an issue with your products over time we are here to give outstanding support. We analyze the issue, if it is an issue of craftsmanship we gladly and promptly get the issue resolved. We also are aware sometimes accidents happen if the issue is caused by miss use we are also happy to assist you in getting your products repaired promptly. We have record of all aspects of your project and can quickly make a perfect match to make the repair. An advantage of going with a local custom shop is that we never discontinue a product line, this ensures you can always have a replace or repair made.

About Us Custom Home Innovations is recognized in Eastern Iowa for outstanding quality custom wood products, superior customer service and innovative design. We put the customer back in customer service. Dave Childers, the founder, started working in a custom cabinet shop in junior high as an after school job cleaning. His boss soon saw his attention to detail in the way that he cleaned the shop. Before long he started giving Dave more responsibility by teaching him how to read blueprints, sand cabinets and doors and assembling face frames. When Dave graduated high school he needed more hours than this small shop could offer. Dave started doing trim work and with his experience in the custom cabinet field he jumped right into making the built-ins and installing the kitchen cabinets. Before long he realized that box cabinets and filler strips were not the best way to buy cabinets. He took his experience working in a custom shop and the design flaws and poor quality of box cabinets and created a custom cabinet line that is truly custom and fits flawlessly into the space provided. Custom Home Innovations has grown and now offers products that consistently exceed customers expectations. Custom Home Innovations also offers an endless possibilities of architectural features, wood finishes and techniques, door styles and hardware options. We are confident that we can match a style to your specific taste that is truly unique to your home. We guide you through every step of the process from the original idea of a new kitchen to the finishing touches. We work with the other trades to ensure everything fits and comes together flawlessly. We have fantastic suppliers who provide us with custom finish colors, custom profiles and the perfect hardware to match existing work in a remodel. We believe that Frank Lloyd right knew what he was doing when he had continuity through out his houses that created a design that stood the test of time. We don't just look at the kitchen design but the entire decor of the home to create flawless continuity. Custom Home Innovations does not just offer a great aesthetic appeal, cabinetry is a workspace, and should incorporate an innovative design to be efficient, comfortable and have a smooth work flow. Doors Contact us for custom door styles., we have the capabilties to match any style. We offer custom tinting and color matching for endless color options. We also offer many custom finishing options, including glazing, rub through, crackle, toning, and distressing. All of our doors are made in shop. This ensures quality. We take great care to construct quality door with strong glue joints by using slow setting glue up methods. Many competitors use wood welding for their doors. This often leads to joint failure which ulitmately leads to unsightly joint lines and weak doors

We have state of the art equipment to run all our moldings in shop We outsource a very small portion of our work. This ensures quality control and a product we proudly stand behind. We also offer installation services. No one knows how to install your project better than we do. When designing your job we have the installation in mind. Wether that is getting large pieces into the space, or dealing with the imperfections that structures inevitably have. Our work is finished in shop using high quality finishes. This ensures not only a beautiful finish, but also a durable finish. This is accomplished with the newest technology in spray equipment. We use Incredibly durable conversion varnish on all our work. All of this means nothing if you don't have customer service. Customer service is a high priority to Custom Home Innovations.
